Suzy Korn, RVT
Suzy is originally from the Syracuse area of upstate New York and is a graduate of St. Lawrence University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology. Suzy then earned an Animal Science degree from Mesa College, and went on to pass the California State Board examination to become a licensed Veterinary Technician. After a few years of working in the veterinary medical field, she went on to attend the California School of Dog Grooming to pursue her dreams of opening her own business that incorporates her love for animals, her artistic ability and her knowledge of animal medicine and behavior. With years of animal handling experience, knowledge of animal behavior, and many hours of training behind her she launched Spawtique late in 2007 and it was an instant success. Although these days Suzy grooms just a few times a week, she is committed leading Spawitque at the top of the pack, by continually adding to her knowledge base and advancing the business. She recently completed extensive training that led to Spawtique becoming certified as an AKC Salon.
When not grooming, Suzy enjoys spending time with her husband, Mark, 6-year-old daughter, Rylan, 4 year-old son, Hudson and 16 month old son, Finnley. Suzy also loves to take yoga classes in Encinitas, take care of her organic garden and mini ranch with her two Boston Terriers “Gustavo” & “Franklin”, consult for an amazing luxury non-toxic skincare line and spending time at the beach.
Suzy and Mark open up their farm to a few dogs for boarding and daycare. Their boarding business is fully insured and the dogs are incorporated into their family and farm lifestyle. Please visit Spawtique Pup Ranch or contact Mark at 858-405-1309 for more info or to set up an appointment to visit our ranch.
Suzy also helps out those pets less fortunate. She has volunteered at the Oceanside Animal Shelter, interned at the Helen Woodward Equine Hospital and was hands on, rescuing pets from St. Bernards Parish in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina.
